Milford Juneteenth Celebration 2022

Saturday, June 18, 2022; 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Come celebrate Milford's 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration on the Milford Green! Last year's event was a wonderful success!

On June 18th, the Milford Juneteenth Celebration committee will host a celebration of Juneteenth on the historic Milford Green. We hope you can join us in celebration and help us share information about this event with your community.

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans.

It is very important to the Black community. Our goal is to celebrate this historic event and honor the achievements of Black Americans.

Juneteenth is a combination of the words “June” and "19th” and is celebrated on June 19th of each year to commemorate June 19, 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas received word that they were emancipated (two and a half years after the emancipation proclamation).

We would very much like folks in Milford to be involved in any way they would like.

Sharing the [ Facebook Event ] on social media and our flier with your members would be wonderful.

So, please join us on the green!  We are look forward to celebrating with you!  Also, feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

Milford Juneteenth is brought to you by All In for Milford, a new alliance of community leaders and neighborhood organizations that strive to make Milford a city where everyone has a place to live, everyone's voice is heard, and we all can thrive.
