About Milford Juneteenth The goal of the Milford Connecticut Juneteenth commemoration is to celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States of America. Through this celebration, we seek to highlight the many accomplishments of the African diaspora by showcasing the culture through food, performing arts, and entrepreneurship. We also seek to increase public knowledge by emphasizing the many contributions made by the descendants of Africans to the American society and the world at large. [ more ] |
